UDENA – The origins of the Latin America & Spanish Natural History Unit.

The origins of UDENA go back to a project entitled UDENA Foundation, which proposed the establishment of a Natural History Unit specifically developed for Spain and Latin America.

The original project was the product of a meticulous five-year study carried out by Angel Garcia-Rojo into the international Natural History filmmaking industry including that of Spain. It received around fifty endorsement letters from top executives at the BBC, National Geographic, Discovery, Animal Planet, as well as various other Natural History Units around the world.

This study was to provide the foundations for UDENA Latin American and Spanish Natural History Unit.

The current goal of UDENA is to bring together people passionate about preserving the environmental heritage of Latin America and Spain by showing its beauty and fragility of their ecosystems to the world through the medium of film.
